Woman of the Month – March 2010 Ellen Leyva

Ellen Leyva of ABC7 Eyewitness News here in Los Angeles has been selected as midlifebachelor.com’s Woman of the Month for March 2010!

Now I have to admit that I usually do not watch ABC7 Eyewitness News at home. I have, however, noticed Ellen Leyva on one of the big screen TVs NEXT TO the one I usually watch when I’m putting in my 45 minutes on the Elliptical Trainer at my gym. Ellen Leyva is absolutely stunning, and has a very soft appearance about her. In doing my research on her, I find it hard to believe that she graduated from Arizona State University back in 1986 … which makes her roughly the same age as me (45). She barely looks 35 – amazing.

Here’s the scoop on Ellen Leyva. She grew up in Tuscon, Arizona in a bilingual home – and spent a fair amount of time in Mexico with her mother’s family. As I mentioned, she graduated from ASU in 1986 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism – and started working first as an intern, then a writer, then a reporter at the CBS affiliate station in Phoenix. Next she moved on to KOVR in Sacramento as a news anchor. After just one year in Sacramento, Ellen accepted a position as a news reporter at ABC7 Eyewitness News here in LA. She then went on to become ABC7’s health reporter, then their morning anchor – and now she is ABC7’s 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. news anchor (where I finally noticed her).

Ellen Leyva is married (rats!) to Mark Hair – who was an F-15 fighter pilot in Arizona when Ellen interviewed him. Apparently he swept her off her feet, as they married – and have two daughters, ages 11 and 14. Her husband has since left the military, and is now a commercial airline pilot.

Now unfortunately I was not able to find any good youtube videos of Ellen Leyva in action. Most of her stories there only show her for a few seconds, and then focus on the story. So if anyone DOES HAVE a good video of Ellen Leyva, please be sure to email it to us at [email protected]. We could also use some better photos, too – if anyone has any. The ones I was able to locate and post here just do not do her justice – she really is amazingly attractive.

Typically at this point, we attempt to analyze our Woman of the Month pick in terms of the Midlifebachelor.com 14 Types of Women. Which type or types do you suppose Ellen might be? Well, she is certainly a Jackpot (see Types of Women – Jackpot) since she is obviously a high income earner, and a great mom … which makes her every man’s dream, right? It is also possible that appearances are deceiving, and that she rides a broom to work each day – but that seems doubtful! If you know Ellen personally and/or would to share something about her – please add a COMMENT to the comment section at the bottom of this page!
