Adrienne Alvarez, evening anchor/reporter for KDBC in El Paso, TX, has been selected as the midlifebachelor.com Woman of the Month for June 2014!
Thanks to one of our die-hard woman of the month readers (Roy) for nominating Adrienne. Â Here is what we know about her. Â She is 28-years old, and was born and raised in New Jersey. Â Her parents are Cuban, and are responsible for raising her to have an incredible work ethic. Â She became interested in broadcast journalism at an early age by watching Katie Couric and Ann Curry (our midlifebachelor.com Woman of the Month in October 2007) in the mornings before school.
Adrienne Alvarez graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Arizona, and has been in El Paso working for sister stations KTSM and KDBC as a reporter before becoming Evening Anchor for KDBC 4 in 2010. Â She has received several awards for broadcast journalism. Â She received a Lone Star Emmy award in 2009 for her story on Ignacio Ramos, Border Patrol agent who sentence for shooting a smuggler was commuted by President George Bush. Â She was more recently honored by YOU El Paso as the 2011 “What’s Up Best of the Best: Best Newscaster Under 40”.
Adrienne Alvarez is married, and had a very cute little baby boy on April 1, 2012.
