Midlifebachelor.com had already chosen a smokin’ hot Latina newscaster for our September 2008 Woman of the Month – when suddenly everything changed a few days before the end of August. John McCain’s nomination of Sarah Palin as his vice presidential candidate forced us to take a very close look at this previously unheard of midlife mom and now political powerhouse. Sarah Palin is our choice for midlifebachelor.com’s September 2008 Woman of the Month!
Midlifebachelor.com is NOT a political website – and I’m not making any sort of political statement by choosing Sarah Palin for September. Our Woman of the Month typically involves choosing a successful woman (a Jackpot – see Types of Women – Jackpot) who is well known … and who has some sort of impact on our lives (be it through watching her on TV news, or otherwise). I know that many of our readers are Democrats … and that many others are Republicans … both parties and viewpoints are fine with midlifebachelor.com. We are simply choosing a new Woman of the Month who is reasonably hot … who is accomplished … and (particularly in this case) who is fast becoming a household name.
Here is briefly what we know about Sarah Palin. She is currently and has been the governor of Alaska since 2006. She was born in Sandpoint, Idaho in 1964 – so she is 44 years old right now. She grew up in Alaska where as a young woman, she won the Miss Wasilla beauty contest in 1984. She attended and graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, and a minor in political science. She married her husband, Todd Palin, in 1988 – and has five children with him. Her fifth child, Trig, was born this past spring – and who has Down syndrome … a condition that Sarah and her husband were aware of before his birth. Of course, this reflects her evangelical faith and social views … she opposes abortion, and believes creationism should be taught in public schools. These are very right-wing republican viewpoints – and go pretty much against mainstream American attitudes … so her political challenge will be to impress America enough with her other positions and talents.
There is a lot more biographical information available – and we could go on and on about who Sarah Palin is – but we’ll leave that as homework for you, if you are interested. Since we are “midlifebachelor.com”, we will definitely note that Sarah Palin … with her glasses and her hair up … has sort of the hot librarian mom look going on. She dresses formally – which we like … I just love a professional-looking woman … especially one who is outspoken and quick on her feet in terms of rhetoric. She is an excellent choice for our Woman of the Month for September 2008 – and will most definitely be a woman to watch now, and in the future. I decided against putting up a youtube video of Sarah Palin – as that might suggest political support for her … midlifebachelor.com is officially neutral when it comes to politics. [The fact that many of our prior Women of the Month work at Fox News only means that Fox News has the hottest female newscasters ;o) ]
Typically at this point, we attempt to analyze our Woman of the Month pick in terms of the Midlifebachelor.com 14 Types of Women. She is obviously a jackpot (see Types of Women – Jackpot). For fun, you can try to guess what other of our 14 Types of Women she might be.
